Not Counting Floors - Fenix5

Does anyone have any troubleshooting tips on inaccurate floor counts. I had my previous Fenix5 replaced by Garmin after troubleshooting it when it stopped counting floors. As of a couple of days ago my replacement Fenix5 has stopped counting most of the floors I complete.  I've calibrated the altimeter to the GPS. It worked OK for about 1-2 months after I received it.  

  • I did a floor counting activity earlier today on my 5x running 14.20, and it was not counting floors after several trips up and down the stairs.

    Like usual when this happens I turn off the watch and turn it back on again. Then the floors started counting again. That worked for me.

    Also, sometimes I find the current altitude has gone negative or near zero and I manually reset it to the correct +35m for my location. Not sure if a negative altitude affects floor count, but it might be something you could look at.

    The downside with turning the watch off/on is then I have to head back to the computer to plug it in again otherwise the navigation feature doesn't work properly. But that's another bug they haven't fixed yet.

  • I just noticed that the notes on Beta 14.73 for the 5X say they have fixed the "Navigation 0" bug!

    I haven't installed it but hopefully when it gets to the release version it will still work.
