Can not clear message icon on Fenix 5 screen

Apologies if this is a basic question but I cannot seem to shift the text message notification on my fenix 5...

I have no unread messages on my iPhone so I cannot understand why the watch is showing unread messages. Any help would be appreciated

I had the same problem yesterday. Since i was focused seeing the issue on the Garmin side, i forgot to to the obvious.

Try restarting your phone, that helped in my case.

Thanks for this. It was my fault; I knew I had no unread text messages or emails but this app as not the problem. On my iPhone, if you swipe down from the home screen, you can see you notifications and it was these which needed clearing. All done
