Transfer data from watch to app

Hi all,

So I had to reinstall the Garmin Connect app because it kept giving a notification that would not go away. After setting up the app again and signing into my Garmin connect iq account my app no longer has the runs/hikes/cycle/achievement/badges data since I bought the watch 6 months ago. My watch still has all of these past activities but how do I get it to upload back to the Garmin connect app? Also, I probably naively assumed this was all backed up on Garmin's servers, so I could access it on more than one device. But since I reinstalled the app it is treating my watch like it's brand new and never been used. Any suggestions? Am I missing something simple? Thanks in advance!

    Of course I just find this out now! This silly persistent notification was the reason I decided to delete and reinstall the Garmin connect app! Hopefully there is still a way to get back that data? I literally lost all of my logged steps, weigh ins, heart rate, calories, etc from March onwards!

  • I'd check the web version of Garmin Connect - all the data should still be there.

    If it is, the data should come back onto the GCM app. I'm assuming you are logging into the same account?

    The web version unfortunately has the same as my app, which is only data from a couple days ago when I reinstalled the app (I did have to reset my password because I had forgotten it - surely that should not cause it). It's so strange that my watch has all of my runs, cycles, hikes, etc but it just cannot sync to the account. I might email Garmin support to see if they can help sort this. Really pissed because that's all of my training data just gone, let alone all of the other data I had been collecting for 6 months!

    I only reinstalled the app because of that pesky notification message but now my watch the last couple of days has been having Bluetooth connectivity issues to my phone, which it never had before...
