hi,
get the 1156 beta fenix5X_1156Beta.zip
from this zip use the GUPDATE.GCD file from folder "System_Backdate_v1100" to downgrade
how to downgrade .... Installation Instructions replace 1250 by 1100
happy & safe downgrade
Thanks for the instructions, however every time you connect the watch to Garmin Connect or Express, the watch will automatically download the latest firmware

so it does
0) backup your watch
1) block updates from within your watch
2) block updates by upping the firmware version in your garmindevice.xml file
make garmindevice.xml "read only" afterwards
before making changes turn off Garmin Express
what to change
<SoftwareVersion>1330</SoftwareVersion>
into <SoftwareVersion>2330</SoftwareVersion>
and
<Version><Major>13</Major><Minor>30</Minor></Version>
into <Version><Major>23</Major><Minor>30</Minor></Version>
3) turn off auto update in Garmin Express
4) when possible turn off auto update in Garmin Connect Mobile
5) stop using Garmin Express, Garmin Connect Mobile and enjoy your sportswatch
happy & safe downgrade
Thanks for your tips, by the item 2 it seams what you are talking about but I have onde doubt.
If you have disable firmware updates as per item 2 instructions why off auto update off? Nonetheless, as far I know, "Auto Update" is meant for GC Mobile only. Even when off if you connect your watch with an USB and have GE loaded it will update any way. This I'm sure by my own experience.
Tks,
thx for your input
to many dont's :)
It is enough to turn of auto upgrade in the watch settings. You don't need to make any other changes. Than you can continue using Garmin Connect Mobile.
But don't use Garmin Express. But if you forget and connect your watch, then you will need to delete one file, I cannot remember the name now. So better don't use Express

a really don'ts topic
