Today I used my nex Fenix 5 for the first time (trailrunning - 10 km,hot weather).
After the run I saw rust (?) corrosion on charge port pins. Is it possible that a new Fenix 5 will rust immediately?

No, you shouldn't have this on a new watch. Did you purchase a refurbished unit and didn't notice right away? Either way, I'd have it exchanged.
Thanks! It is new. It was originally packed...
How a new fenix 5 can be as waste as this ? After 2 years mine does not have a quarter sign of wear this watch has. I think it's not really a new watch. Go back to your seller for a refund if possible, else call to Garmin.
Sorry for my english.
The seal was not broken. I checked the watch. The pins were bright silver.
After the first run (of course there was a lot of sweat on the back of the watch) I checked it and saw corrosion. A bad day...
Looks like an older model - they have had gold pins for quite a long while now. I have seen a few reports here of the same issue but not occurring that quickly.
It could be an older model. Serial number: 5Q10...
The seller takes back the watch. I am sorry. I liked it!
Very strange. If you bought it from a store - get a different one. The new models have gold pins to deal with a connectivity issue that came about with the early version. Mine has two years of sweat, rain and everything on it (Silver pinned) and doesn't show that issue. The whole surface of that one is quite badly pitted too. Unless you have acid for blood :-)
I have a silver-pinned (older) model and while I've had to run an eraser over the pins a few times I've never seen anything like that! Return it.
Hi! I also have got a Fenix 5 for 2 months now (silver pins). 2 Pins already have got corrosion. When I send it to Garmin, will they send me a new device and then I have to send them my old one? Or do I first have to send it to Garmin, wait some months and only then get a new device?
