Has anyone been able to get a low stress score? I have been using this product for awhile. And even on my laziest days, I cant score below 50 ish and it still says I am high stress.

Thoughts?

My stress score was working well, I thought, until the latest update. Then it went haywire and reported that I was one of the most stress people on the planet! Always above 75 even when I slept! I called Garmin Support (called, not e-mailed -- have never found e-mail support all that useful) and they walked me through saving the info on my watch (records, etc) then resetting the watch, then reinstalling all my info. Worked like a charm. Now the stress score is backed to where it was before the update and reports what feels to me to be accurate. My life is mostly chill -- only expect higher scores on days I have back-to-back meetings at work (I HATE meetings) and sometimes it spikes right after a workout. But mostly I'm at rest or in low stress (which is how I try to live my life ;).
  • Can yoy tell us the procedure that Garmin suggested?

I have a Fenix 5 and a Vivoactive 3. The Fenix reports my stress as 2x of what the VA3 reports.
  • Same thing happened to me, after the last update the overall stress level score went all of a sudden from low 20's to high 40's. It all started the moment it updated the firmware.

The only way it went back to normal was after a hard reset too. Now its working correctly as always.

For those thinking of doing a hard reset (Settings-> System -> Restore Defaults) make sure you make a back up first. Bellow is the procedure
    https://support.garmin.com/faqSearch...PZ6PboXu5Nf7d6

Mind you that even if you make a back upand the restore it, after the hard reset, you will still loose some settings.

I suggest opening those settings in your smartphone Garmin Connext app and taking screen captures of the settings, this will make it faster and easier to reconfigure after the reset:

The settings you will loose are (off the top of my head):
    - your watch faces and their settings
    - your application's configured data screens
    - you will have to re-download those widgets and applications you had downloaded from ConnectIQ store
    - the order of the widgets and applications will be lost
    - your VO2, training load and last activities will disappear and have to be built up again (they will still be available in your Connect app and webpage)

    Hope this helps.
  • AReyes, the widget doesn't need to be calibrated.

Is there a way to calibrate the widget? I went through the settings but cannot see anything related to the stress widget calibration setup.

Vivosport user here. Just wanted to report that I’ve had a similar issue with stress readings. Jan-Mar showed 40 % higher stress scores than I had in Nov-Dec. Did a reset today and stress scores seems back to normal.

Do you know if stress score is normalized for the individual user? By that I mean if it’s adjusted to a “normal” level for the user (which could make it hard to benchmark and monitor changes over time).

Vivoactive 3 user here. I have been having the same issue since January. However, mine is a very persistent issue. I have reset to default 3 times, the function works for about a week or two then slowly starts to die off. I just got off a rather lengthy chat with support with no real resolution given. The only suggestion was that I have my device replaced but if the reset to default resolves the issue even temporarily it is clearly a software issue, not hardware. Any suggestions?

Its the same thing that is happening to the Fenix5 and the VivoSport, so its not you unit. Actually it was doing fine on the Fenix until the 7.60 firmware update...

So my stress tracking seems to have magically started working in the wee hours of the night last night. Did this happen for anyone else? I have a vivoactive 3.
  • My stress levels just jumped in the last few days as well. All of a sudden I am sleeping and only getting 1-2 hours of credit for "Rest" despite what appears to be good sleep both on the device and based upon how I feel. I am going to hard reset it now.
