So I switched from an Iphone to a Google Pixel XL when getting notifications from gmail, the only thing it shows is the sender then my email address. On my iPhone it would should the subject etc. Is this something just with Android?
It's been a while since I set mine up, but I seem to recall that somewhere there is a setting on the phone to show the body of a message in the notification. I checked in notifications and in gmail, but can't find it. You may want to ack in the GCM/Andriod forum.
My watch has the same behaviour, because I set it up that way in Android (Nougat).
System Settings -> Notifications -> gear-wheel -> On the lock screen.
There you will see 3 options for notifications on the lock screen.
