Continue an activity / export an activity offline

Hi,
as far as I know, both of my wishes are not possible - but probably there are other unknown sulution. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

1. Continue an activity:
I can stop temporarily an activity and continue within IMHO 30 minutest. Afterwards, the activity will be saved automatically.
Is it possible to contunue the last saved activity anyhow?
(I know the fit-file-tools for combination. But sometimes, e.g. during more than one day hiking or longer interruptions, it would be better to continue the current activity)

2. Export of an activity
2.1.: On homepage of Garmin Connect, it's possible to export gpx. Is it also possible to export fit? (in order to combine with fit-file-tools)
2.2.: As far as I know, it's not possible to export gpx in Android Garmin Connect App, isn't it? Why???
2.3.: It would be much better to export gpx or fit directly via Bluetooth. Is this possible, anyhow? (Unfortunately, my 5S is not recognized via USB-OTG in Android)
  • Really there is a limit to pausing? That sucks. Sooner or later I would have taken a break from a tour eating or trying to record a multi-day tour while pausing for the night, so this is not possbile?
  • 1\Stop activity then select Resume Later.
2.1A\Yes. View activity, top right cog select Export to GPX
2.1B\Yes. View activity, top right cog select Export Original.
    2.2\Correct.
    2.3\No.
  • To clarify what did you do? Did you use "resume later" or just pause? I hope there isn't a time limit on "resume later" would make the whole thing useless.

But also knowing the time limit on the regular "pause" would be important, so you know when to use "resume later" and when its good enough to just pause.

Good question... But I'm afraid I always used only "PAUSE" (which unfortunately saves the track automatically after 30 Minutes). I've not noticed "Resume later", because I didn't need it very often  EDIT: It's true and it's solved now.
    Thanks for clarification TrippyZ

    Summary:
    1. Solved
2.1: Solved (Remark: "Export Original" works for exporting to *.fit. During my first test, I nevertheless received a *.gpx. Reason: This was NOT an activity saved by Garmin fenix, but it was a planned Track that I importet via komoot. That's why also after "Export Original" I received a gpx, because no other date were stored)
2.2: It's a pity, not to have the possibility to export gpx in Android App (neither Garmin, nor komoot). (EDIT: It's solved: Additional Android Apps "komoot to gpx" and "Garmin to gpx")
    2.3: Really not good.
  • The Export Original produced a compressed .fit file for me.
