Considering the Fenix 5 series hasn't gotten the body battery feature that's been out for a bit longer it probably won't get the other new features. At this point I wonder if we'll see these features added to the 5+ series (more likely, but still unknown) or if they'll be reserved for the Fenix 6.
Of course we won't see any new features on fenix-5x. For example take a look at the beta firmwares that they release in the last period. They did not place not even one single new feature. They want us to buy their new more expensive watches and only then we will have those new features. Like always, garmin does not care what clients wish, they only care about the money they will get from us. More money they get, then more happy they are.
All the companies do... They call it lifecycle of the product.
That's why i did not buyed the new fenix5x plus. Garmin it's not a company that care about their buyers. I will keep my fenix5x until it dies then i will buy a sunto or a polar watch! At least for those watches you won't spend a fortune!

Bye bye. You'll be posting the same sob story on the Suunto or Polar forums when their new device doesn't have the same features as your existing device. It amazes me when I see post like this from people who don't have a single clue about running a business. I'm already reading about how Garmin has "taken advantage" of 645 owners with the new 245. But, this is the age of the "entitled", so I guess it won't go away soon.

If we went with your “entitled” logic and Garmin didn’t care about it’s customers, then why do they come out with updates and fixes? Would be a hell of a lot cheaper to not put any time or resources into the watch.
Also based on your “entitled” logic, if you had an iPhone 8+ and they (Apple) came out with the iPhone X, you’d scream and whine at them for not including the new features of that phone, on your phone.
People like you believe the world revolves around them. Maybe if you sat back and said, “Hey, if I want the latest and greatest, then I’ll just buy the latest and greatest, as opposed to “expecting” the latest and greatest software to be added onto watch that’s over 2 years old”...which in the smart watch world, is old. Be happy you’re getting ANY updates right now.
You are very wrong mister! If Garmin care about customers how you believe, then they release watches without a lot of issues. Watches on that you spend a fortune. So don't come to me and say that Garmin cares about their customers. They have altimeter problem for a lot of time and they did not solve it. And yes, if the hardware support new features, why not have them on the watch on which i spent a lot of money. Some people are so naive...
Yes, some people are naive into believing that a company should revolve their business around them and their desires.
I would suggest that you refrain from buying ANY sports or smart watch moving forward, because you’ll never be happy. There is no perfect watch, you’ll always find something to complain about, so when your 5x dies, go bother a Suunto or Polar customer.
Sorry Dexter, I'm with TMK17 and Odie21 with this. Is Garmin perfect? Of course not. But when I buy a watch (and I still have a 305 sitting around - still working), I buy it for the features it has, not with an expectation that some new capability might be added later on. I've actually been very surprised how many times my watches (through the Fenix series especially) have had new features added or ported back from a newer model (when hardware and software allows), but I do not expect it. It's a business, not a charity. We have every right to complain if a function or feature does not work as advertised but no justifiable right to complain if features & functions on newer models are not back ported - just be pleasantly surprised when some are. If you really think it is better with Suunto or polar head on over and good luck.
