Add way point to course file

Hi,

I would like to try and add way points to a course file if possible. So I get a notification or something to tell me I have reached this way point along a course. Is this possible, if so how? I know there are 3rd party apps available in ConnectIQ but I want to do this using the native Garmin run app.

You can do this through Garmin Connect (the Courses subheading).

I don’t think it works. Yes. That feature exists and you can do the markings. But, if u transfer the route wirelessly from GCM to the watch it won’t work. (Above a certain KM distance route it won’t work)

Please report back w findings.

Ah OK, I will let you know. I have added 8 checkpoints along a 26 mile off road race, so I will see what happens. I transferred it via USB connection through Garmin Express.

i did a 25km trail race yesterday and the watch waypoints worked flawlessly. tho, turn by turn doesnt happen? i guess simce its uploaded via wire, garmin doesnt have the opportunity to include the tbt? i may be wrong.

Well the check points worked, alongside turn notifications that were already part of the route file before I added the checkpoints using Garmin Connect. However I did get a message pop up about exceeding 50 course points so I guess some didn't load properly. After 20 or so miles I didn't care much, so didn't check they were working as often as I did initially.
