Indoor track running data some times get skewed

Not sure if anyone has faced this issue .I notice that when I am doing indoor activities the data gets skewed. Last time when it happened, I just deleted all activities from the watch and there was a software update which I applied. some how at that time it got fixed. Now again I started seeing the same thing.
for any mode say for running or Indoor running I get distorted results..E.g the track is of 200 m and I complete 2 rounds then it says that I ran 200 meters.
here is the link
first selection as Running
https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/3544489099

it showed that I ran .95 but for sure I was close to 1.8km

I thought that may be Running selection got for toss so I selected indoor running and pretty the same results

Really this is driving me nuts as the whole workout is getting messed up.Any help here.
By any chance if the phone is not near the tracks I can face this issue?

Thanks
-Prashant

  • Go outside, get a good gps lock. Record a ten minute Run outside and save. Now try recording an Indoor Run outside and run along the same way you just ran and save. Distances recorded on both activities should be similar. If not, post links to both of these activities.

Your stride length is recorded as half meter. That is the problem.

    Hi,
I just noticed that there is a software update -- I am sure the moment i update my watch the next indoor run will be perfect. Exactly same happened with me in last software update.
Anyways i will update the software and next Run is on Sat and will keep you posted.
