Di2 buttons support

Could anyone confirm that di2 buttons are not supported on Fenix ? I wanted to change screens and control Lap using my shifter buttons but I'm only able to add gears data fields...
  • I am going to try it when I get home if it is not raining. I just got my first DI2 equipped bike and have only paired it with my 1030. I dont have spare buttons but I will try and reassign some to change screens if possible.
  • If I remember, i'll putz around with this today. Is there a particular configuration you'd like me to test?
  • What I think he is looking for is the ability to use a button to cycle through the data screens on his watch. I have not remembered to try it out and I feel bad about it. I only have DI2 on my Speed Concept 9 and, since she is not ready to ride, she lives in the shed as I buy things to make her whole
  • Similar to the original poster I am able to add the Di2 to my Fenix 5x, I am able to add a screen, and then add data fields but on many of the videos it only shows setting up units like the 1030 - I can't seem to find where to tell it how to react to the Di2 buttons / channel. I have the top buttons set on the Di2 side but they do not do anything on the Garmin. On other Garmin's there seems to be a page to assign what the buttons on the Di2 do. I want it to move between next and prev page

I can confirm the behavior. The Fenix 5x does support the Di2 junction box and basic gear information or battery level can be displayed, but the button mapping feature known from the bicycle computers (edge) has not been ported to the watch. The gear information later on is stored in the activity file but is not visualized in garmin connect.

I assume (to only mention the positive) the 5X is not really meant to be worn on a race bike as there is no official mount adapter available as it was for the older triathlete watches (pulse sensor could break ..). It´of course seems to be a bit a product strategy again. Some companies do develop one watch model, the others 20-30 variants.

Do you use any good quick mount adapter for the 5X, in comparison of features it surpasses the small edge 130.. by far?
  • I have a fenix 5 plus and I use the edge 130 in extended display mode so at the moment I can have separate data pages on my watch and edge at the same time and scroll through both independently from the devices witch is nice and I get heart rate data without a chest strap witch is also cool it would be awesome to have full control of the di2 from the watch especially with extended display mode and be able to control my edge 130 data pages via the fenix 5 plus using the di2 shifters and control my wireless lights ect from them aswell.

  • Dear Garmin, please add this function to fenix watches. At lease series 7.

I have also dropped a request here, maybe they check at least this mailbox.
