Screen vertical lines and flashing - Gearmin watchface?

So I have had my Fenix 5x for a few weeks now. Everything was great until last weekend. I installed the Gearmin watch face, (which I absolutely love) and my watch has crapped out twice since. It will be a bunch of vertical lines flashing and you can see the watch face flash by every now and again. I have to hard power down to resolve. Has anyone seen this? Is it the watch or the watch face? For now I have reverted back to the bland stock faces and will leave it for a few weeks to see if it happens again. I know custom faces are liable to fail; I was just hoping it wouldn't be this one!
  • Try using "contact developer" for the watch face. What you're seeing could be the watch itself - power off by holding the light button until the watch turns itself off and then back on. That's a full reboot.

What you're seeing is uncommon for CIQ watch faces. They really aren't liable to fail.

    One week update:
Since moving back to the standard Garmin watch face, I have not experienced this issue in the last 7 days. Contacted the developer of Gearmin and have not heard anything. I will continue to use he standard face for another week, then try another custom face and report back.

Update: Ok a few weeks passed and it just froze up again. Stock watch face and FW 12.50. Looks like a call to Garmin support. Bummer. I was really hoping to like this thing.

I have had my watch for nearly a year, and it has survived marthons, triathalons and multiple OCR runs with no problem.  Was fine this morning and then half a hr ago it had the same issue.  But a full reboot and it seems to be back to norm. Hopefully a weird one off!
