sensor hub ver. 6.50
  • Fenix 5 has been updated to 12.50 successfully but backlight-on-gesture is no longer working. Anyone facing the same problem?
  • Is there any information what is improoved with sensor hub 6.50 and gps 2.50? I have fw 12.40 with gps 2.30 and sensor hub 6.20. The device is now stable and battery usage is great. I am struggeling to update to 12.50. What are the experiences with battery at fw 12.50. Bhat ere the benefits of the new fw?

What does the cost have to do with it? Does it matter if you spent $15 or $1500? Would it have been acceptable if it were a Vivoactive? Nobody wants this to happen regardless of cost, but sh*t happens on occasion.

Lol, it sure does matter if you pay 15 or 1500. You have other expectations at a 1500$ watch, and there should be moooore beta testing in this price area! Why else would i buy Garmin? Why would I buy an iphone if there are phones that cost 10%. I have endless bugs and problems with my watch. Battery does only 7 days, widgets are discarded from time to time, no notification at random mornings, sensor hub does not get updated and so on! I only have it for a month and always have to check forums to see if others have same problems and how to resolve them. This kind of thing should be done before roling out hardware and software by beta testers. Not by me.

As of light gesture, there is a change that i have noticed, and it's about do not disturb mode. Now, when watch is in dnd the light won't come on ;) At night, in sleep hours i guess it's ok.
  • This week also received the software version 12.50 update. However, the GPS version remains 4.40.
Seems that the problems accumulate, connection with garmin express also not possible and the reliability of the GPS also leaves much to be desired. What a difference with my old forerunner 305 or a tomtom watch. How long do we have to wait for Garmin to solve this?

What other expectations? If you purchase a product, you expect it to work and have functional updates regardless of price. Are you suggesting that if you paid $250 for a VA3 and you had the same issues that this wouldn't be a concern for you? This would be acceptable to you because it didn't cost as much as a Fenix watch? I spent less for my FR935 than you did for your Fenix. Should my expectations be lower than yours? As I said before, nobody wants these issues with their device, therefore making cost irrelevant. You paid more for the added features, not for the expectation that the FW updates or betas would be more stable than those of a device that cost less.

I was talking vs other BRANDS. Seems that you heard only about fenix 5, vivoactive and fr935.

with people like you, i guess Garmin should double the price and also the problems :) You will still be happy. Hurray!

I also see you have 2000 posts here. You either work at them or you definitly should change watch brands ;) It’s is eating your life at “no matter the cost” ;)

twilight No, you clearly said, "On how much a Garmin device costs, this is exactly the things that should never happen!", when referring to the problematic update. Do you think people are too stupid to look back at your post? Now you're tap dancing by saying you were talking about other BRANDS and you think the easy way out is the popular and moronic, " you must be a Garmin employee.", and "you have" X" number of post", as if that's supposed to mean something other than your back pedaling trying to save face.

Yes yes mister 2k posts, i was talking about “garmin devices costs”. Not about “fenix devices”. That’s why I was reffering vs other brands.

Don’t be so mad, you entered the wrong path and seem not that happy with “sh*t on occasion” with the watches you protect and love.
  • Just updated to 12.50 and along came GPS: 2.50, CIQ: 3.0.1, BLE/ANT/SNS: 6.50,WHR: 20.03.31 :D

I have the latest update (12.50) and battery is now draining very fast. Anyone else with the same problem?

I have the exact same problem on my Fenix 5. Battery is draining in less than a day since 12.50.
