Fenix 5 HRM slow to pick changes

Hi,
Just got Fenix 5 sapphire, this is my first Garmin watch and I love most of it except few this (HRM 24/7 have gaps time to time) and the worst is everything pulse changes fast (*going up hill or push harder on bike) Fenix is soooo slow to pick up right pulse. way slow that Apple watch or Fitbit I had (usually they pick up right pulse in 10-15 sec), Fenix 5 takes much longer and by them if pulse going down, it take Fenix even longer to adjust (just sit at higher number for a while before it going down) soo weird.
I check the correct pulse with my circle computer and c chest strap.
any one else notice such slow adjustments and sometimes pulse is way off.
but as soon as I'm going steady - it is catch up and it is perfect!

Of cause someone probably will say use chest strap - I do when I'm exercise on bike or running.... but sometimes I'm just walking and just monitor hr and would like to have at lest close to reality so I can rely upon.

Thx
  • OMG today once again got disappointed in quality of HRM sensor on Fenix 5, just walking up to hill and chest HRM showing 141, watch showing 92 (seriously) after like 25 sec watch showing 152 check already 108, watch was sitting at 152 for like 20-25 sec and only then started droping down.
unfortunately watch showing correct pulse when I'm not moving. as soon as I start move and pulse changes, really slow to pick up.

for watch that cost so much it is not good at all :(
I know for precise measurement we need to use chest hrm but watch should show decent numbers and adjust faster to changes
  • Fenix 5 OHR is really bad. my apple Watch and Polar a360 is much better. got a replacement Fenix 5 with same problems. changed to Instinct and ohr is much better. not as good as apple och polar but much better than Fenix 5. Fenix 5 ohr only good for resting hr and sleep
  • I love my Fenix 5 for everything else like - longer battery life, flexible for many sports, can connect all my ant+=. But watch ohm is sooooo bad compare to apple, fitbit (what I had chance to compare with) but the price is higher, so Garmin need fix this thing asap (it is most likely can be partially done by software)
