My 5x comes on when attached to the charger. If I leave the watch on charge for an hour or so the meter shows 100%. However as soon as the charger is removed it switches off. It wont come on at all. So, am I to assume the battery has just died on its ass? I am out of warranty. Does anyone know my options? Can i get it repaired, officially through GArmin. I don't fancy a back street repair. Would love a Garmin employee to hit me up, appreciate its between the holidays though. Many thanks
That does sound like a battery issue, something worth trying is a hard reset:
Turn OFF the Fenix Press and HOLD LAP button Power on (still holding the LAP button) You will get the menu “Clean user data: Yes/No?” release LAP button Choose yes
you can get it repaired/replaced by contacting garmin support and paying the repair fee (will be a lot less than the price of a new device)
Thanks for the info. So does that service exist in the uk, to your knowledge? I have gone through the garmin website investigating the issue. It would appear its an American service. No one from Garmin has contacted me yet although it is the holidays.
