Chest strap for Kickboxing / Mauy Thai

Hi,

I have the Fenix 5X but I am about to start Mauy Thai training again and I cannot wear the Fenix 5X while I am training. Just wondering what the best option would be for a chest strap?

I will be up to 10-15m away from my bag which will have my Fenix 5X and phone in it so not sure if the data will work properly that far or if I'll need a strap with data storage.

I sent an email to Garmin support but they weren't very helpful.

Maybe the solution is garmin chest strap for swimming. It should have a cache (because under wattter ANT signal doesnt work) and if it is possible, then chest uploads data to watches. But, check this information.

Yes I think that will work but I’ve heard that the HRM Swim is quite uncomfortable for normal activities.

Then get the HRM-Tri. It is more comfortable.

Is it ok for pool swims? I’m not that concerned with millions of data fields. To be honest all I really want to record during swim and Muay Thai is heart rate and calories burnt.

Technically it should work, BUT:

1. It is not chlorine resistant and can degrade quickly when used in chlorinated water frequently.
2. It does not stick to the body as well as the HRM-Swim, and will slip down when swimming dynamically, unless you wear it under a swimsuit.
