New Fenix 5X not receiving messages!

I have looked for an answer from Garmin on why or how to fix the problem with my watch not receiving messages from my Note 9 phone and still no answers? I have had my watch now for about a week (lot to learn about it) and love it but I would like to know if I have a message just like my emails? I know there are post on the subject but I can not find what to solve the problems? Anyone out there has any idea to fix? Thank you!
