Note: Please allow for the updates to propagate across all servers. There is no need to post that the link does not work. It will after a bit of patience.

11.56 Change Log Notes:
  • Added support for Garmin Explore mobile app.
  • Added support for Swimrun auto sport change. (Requires SNS v6.21)
  • Made improvements to waypoint navigation when using MOB.
  • Fixed an issue where non GPS activities were being displayed in the Navigation menu.
  • Fixed an issue with backlight level when using Flashlight.
  • Fixed an intermittent issue where the device may appear frozen while applying a software update.
  • Fixed an issue where the sunrise and sunset times in New Zealand were not taking daylight savings into account.
  • Fixed an issue where the heart rate zones could change from %LTHR to %HRMax after a software update.
  • Fixed an issue where the device would connect to Varia Lights when cycling through certain widgets.
  • Fixed an intermittent issue where the device was calibrating altimeter during indoor activities.

Please note, the beta updates released on these forums are not suitable for APAC region devices.
  • I guess that the problem with the virtual partner has not been solved and it's still not working properly.
    Can someone confirm that virtual partner is still not showing time ahead or behind before installing the beta?

    I was able to add my Fenix5 to Garmin Explore on the first run and do some tests, now fenix5 is disappeared and I cannot add it to garmin explore. Tried also uninstall and device repair but nothing to do. It just says to register device with garmin connect (that is still working well).
    :(


    the Beta team got me to remove my F5 from Garmin Connect Mobile and Bluetooth pairing, then log out of connect mobile, log back in and add the F5 again

    once I did this I can now connect to Explore fine

    I used it two days ago with the Virtual Partner. I think it showed the time ahead. I will check on my next run for you.
    By the way: why should we confirm that the time is still not showing before installing the beta?
  • Tested Virtual Partner today on a run, times ahead are shown.
  • I appreciate your help checking about Virtual partner.
    The reasons I asked are two.
    First of all confirm whether it is not working or has been solved already, since there is nothing mentioned on the change log notes ( and this is strange ).
    If it was not working, it is a way to remind Garmin developers that this is an unsolved issue and I would not bother downloading and installing the beta files , put them each one of the correct folder. I rather wait for the final version and let Garmin express do it manually for me
    Now that you confirmed that the issue has been solved, I will install the beta manually and try myself and report acordingly

  • Well I just came back from running and after installing 11.56 I can confirm that virtual partner is still not working, at least in my fenix 5.
    Maybe is because you competed against a previous activity that yours have worked, but in my case I set up virtual partner with a pace and start.
    Both small guys start running and It shows my pace but it does not show time ahead or behind, just 0:00
    It's in Spanish but its the virtual partner screen.

  • I set it up the same, just a pace and went for a run.
  • Ok, I have removed the virtual partner screen, switch off and switch on again the watch. Add the screen again and now it is working properly.

    I just noticed this inconsistency on my watch - I know sometime before this update, my Running Zone was %LTHR.
    I just checked my watch and saw that it listed %HRMax but GCM was showing %LTHR

    Just a friendly note for people to double check their settings as under this version, you may have to verify your settings in both the watch and GCM (if the setting was previously auto changed)
  • Since upgrading to this Beta, my Wrist Heart Rate monitor has become very patchy with dropouts and datagaps on the trend. Prior to the upgrade it was very consistent.

    Is is anyone else seeing this behaviour?
