11.56 Change Log Notes:
  • Added support for Garmin Explore mobile app.
  • Added support for Swimrun auto sport change. (Requires SNS v6.21)
  • Made improvements to waypoint navigation when using MOB.
  • Fixed an issue where non GPS activities were being displayed in the Navigation menu.
  • Fixed an issue with backlight level when using Flashlight.
  • Fixed an intermittent issue where the device may appear frozen while applying a software update.
  • Fixed an issue where the sunrise and sunset times in New Zealand were not taking daylight savings into account.
  • Fixed an issue where the heart rate zones could change from %LTHR to %HRMax after a software update.
  • Fixed an issue where the device would connect to Varia Lights when cycling through certain widgets.
  • Fixed an intermittent issue where the device was calibrating altimeter during indoor activities.

Please note, the beta updates released on these forums are not suitable for APAC region devices.
  • The default skiing app elevation bug is much better in this version. In the past 10.xx versions I had the experience of repeatedly skiing the same lift, and the base elevation continued to climb on every run. I've just started using the app on 11.56 and the base elevation is no longer climbing. on the couple of runs I've taken. The base elevation will bounce around run to run approximately +/- 100 feet (on a 2000 to 3000 feet vertical runs). EDIT: This was on GPS only setting. I'll try GPS+GLONASS sometime in the next couple of days.

    Here you go. I have noticed that with 11.56 you have to restart the watch sometimes to get it to reset to 0 after changing. It only has happened once to me.

    In the settings you can adjust the display color based on charge level. Also it doesn't impact battery life.

    Here is an helpful data field. It will also display your in activity battery usage. Just add the field to a data screen and forget about it. I have it on every actviact I use.

  • looks like fw11.56 broke my WiFi connectivity
    I previously had the issue of error when syncing via WiFi, but right now my Fenix cannot even detect the wifi networks when I try to add them new (directly from the swatch interface)

    Can I revert back only the wifi o do I have to revert all of the firmware to 11.00 ?

    looks like the WiFi connectivity works just ONCE after a reboot. I can add 1 network, and he does a sync, but then I cannot sync anymore nor the watch can find any networks at all.

    Can't offer any suggestions specifically only to say it has not broken mine. Just tested it by connecting to my iPhone hotspot wifi without an issue (three times).

    I contacted the Garmin assistnace, got a precure to downgrade e wipe clean the watch (even uninstall/reinstall the express sosftware e clean temp data on pc)
    But it did not work

    the watch has ben sent to Garmin assistance and replaced
    A new one (with a different serial number) is on the way to me
