Question: Does Storm Alert work while an activity?

Hi to all!

i have a generell question. as i understood:
Storm-Alert comes in, when the air pressure goes down to a specified value. (default, 4 hPa).
When starting an activity, GPS is only used, for calibration the barometric altimeter at Start. then the watch uses only the barometric value, for elevation. and all changes in air pressure are changing the elevation.
Since there is no continuous recalibration with GPS. how will the watch know, if i am running or hiking up an hill, or the weather changes?

The simple answer will be, the watch do not know. All barometric changes during activity is considered as a elevationcahange. This is also something that you can se on the barograph, it is flat when in activity, regardless if there is a weather front approaching.

thx very much Stig_Erik! that's what i thought. so while running, hiking or climbing in the mountains, it does not alert me. only when sitting around somewhere. :-/ :-D

I went through Hurricane Michael with nary a peep from the watch. Wouldn't count on sitting there and getting notified either. :-) I could never find a setting that didn't generate random alerts when there was nothing or a true alert when there was something. Seemed either or with the settings I tried.

Think it will alert you, when you‘re sitting there have the watch-mode on Barometer mode and pressure changes for specified values in a given time.

yeah - i switched it to Barometer but could never get it to go off before an actual storm. Either ignored or was too sensitive. Never quite figured out the ideal setting and lost interest.
