Hi!

everywhere I read that for galileo I need to have gps 2.20.
But I currently have 4.40.

How do I get to 2.20? And howcome 2.20 have newer features than 4.40? :)

thanks!
Lars
  • The latest version is now 2.30.

On my 5X+, I got it as an automatic update through Garmin Express for the PC, only updating the GPS version. As far as I know, nobody has got it as an automatic update through Garmin Connect Mobile (separately from a firmware update, I mean).

For the 5X, there are two threads which indicate that you also for this watch have to use Garmin Express to get the update, and if you update the firmware to 11.00, you will have to update via Garmin Express once again to get GPS 2.30:
    https://forums.garmin.com/forum/on-t...ps-v2-30-on-5x
    https://forums.garmin.com/forum/on-t...-release/page2

Sounds to me like quite a mess, since firmware 11.00 is two weeks newer than GPS 2.30 and consequently ought to include the correct GPS version. But perhaps someone at Garmin got confused too about the old GPS version number being higher.
  • I had a post on some trouble getting the v2.30 firmware. Garmin express never recognized that I needed it. Garmin Webupdater did notice, but the update failed. In the middle of all that mess, I was walking up my stair and the 5x display changed, and said update was available. I took it, and then I had v2.30. So, its my belief that GC mobile finally did it. though I did not do anything specific that I can tell. Agree it could have been handled better.
  • I used WiFi to upgrade......GPS version 2.30 automatically installed also.
