Let me tell you what happened to me:

In March of 2018 I bought a Garmin Fenix 5S nº568032810.

This month I used it for descents in the snow, in the following months it was used for cycling laps and finally in August I swam in the open sea. After swimming he always passed the Fenix for fresh water.

Out of the sport, I always used this watch to control the HR and count the daily steps.

I really liked this watch.

I bought the Fenix 5S because it fits better on my wrist and the 5 was big and I could hit it.

At the end of August a white spot appeared on the screen that prevented its complete reading.

I sent the device to the Iberian Warranty and got the RMA 530672.

On October 1st I received an email informing that it had been screen rupture and that it was not covered by the guarantee had to deposit 136,34 € to have the problem solved.

I phone the Iberian Warranty incredulously with the answer since I do not find any reason on my part to cause such a malfunction.

I believe that I am a zealous, careful person with my equipment, do not fall or walk in a careless way in order to have caused so much damage in the Fenix.

I say this in the phone call, but although it was attended to by a kind person and I understood my dismay, I could not do anything else.

He indicated a mail to return to expose the situation ([email protected]).


That's what I did.


I returned to tell the whole story not denying that the equipment has the damage they say, however I find no explanation, as far as I remember, to have caused such damage.

If I hit Fenix, I'll remember, and I was not with this whining or disgusted with the brand.

I do not like complaining or arguing. But in this case I think I should say something.


The response I received from the quality department was that: "an incident occurred in the device caused internal breakage in the internal crystals of the screen that resulted in the exit of the internal liquid that they contain inside" and that was not covered by the guarantee.

So dry no more.

How is it possible

These equipment, I think, are designed with some resistance because they are branded for various sports such as: mountaineering, cycling, btt, snow sports, hiking, athletics and more.

I say knowingly, from the moment the various brands chose to have the Iberian Guarantees, because of the commercial strategy, they began the problems of the customers to see the guarantees being treated.

The Iberian Guarantees avoid all arguments not to honor the guarantees given by the brands.

Within my sporting environment I know that they are buying products that do not have Iberian Guarantees because they already know that they will have problems if they have to resort to the guarantees.

In my sports environment there are huge numbers of people buying products online. Do not have any problem with the Warranties, they are met promptly. No Iberian guarantees, there are always problems.


More says that always went customer of the Polar mark without having any problem and the few times that I fell back upon the warranty went always very well assisted.

Many years passed decided to change for Garmin to try other functionalities and the first time that I go through the warranty of this mark have this disillusion.

Knowing this and continuing me to affirm her that I don't see reason to have caused size damage in the equipment (damage that said by the warranty but that didn't prove) for a marketing administration, of fidelizar the customer, of maintaining the good name of the mark, anything.

The Iberian Warranty is inflexible, without vision, to the I contradict of his employee . It is of lamenting.
