Fenix 5 & Wahoo Kickr Snap as power meter

Anyone been able to pair and connect to their smart trainer or a Wahoo Kickr Snap?

I can get my fenix to find the Kickr Snap, add it to the sensor list, but that's as far as it gets. It sits searching for the Snap, then eventually fails with a Red notification.

Anyone?
  • What kind of device has it paired as? Trainers often have multiple types of profile available (PM, Cadence, trainer, speed etc.). Also does the Snap need you to pedal a bit to wake it back up like other Trainers?

It's coming up on the indoor bike activity as a flashing PM icon, just as it does on the Edge 520. It just doesn't connect. This is even when sat on the bike peddling, it still doesn't connect.

It's listed in the sensor & accessories as PWR - KICKR SNAP.

Are you using Zwift or some other app with it? If so you can sync those apps with your Garmin Connect account and use the Physio True up feature to add it to your training load on your watch.

Think ive managed to connect the Kickr Snap as a power meter.

Where I've been going wrong is, I was using the "Add New" then search till the fenix found the Kickr Snap as "PWR-kickr snap".

I removed the Kickr from the fenix, went into settings, sensors & accessories, Add New, but this time, scrolled down the pre named sensor, accessory options and selected "Power".

The Kickr Snap is now displaying power, wattage.

For anyone struggling to connect to the new KICKR trainer that has both bluetooth and ant+, the trick is to disable your bluetooth phone connection on your watch before adding. This forces the watch to select the ant+ connection, which will work. Just don't forget to enable phone bluetooth afterwards.
