Heart rate zones as graph on activities

Does anyone know if there is a data field or similar that will show which zone I'm in over time in activities?

I'm looking for something that shows the zones similar to cadence, pace etc graphs that appear in completed activities.
  • Check out the data field “Heart rate zones chart” by ronnywinkler......... seems to meet the description you give. Doesn't show the time in each zone, but gives a graphical chart of how long you’ve been in each zone along with what zone you’re currently in.
  • Your watch has a counter of total time in each zone during an activity.

During an activity, the accumulated time in a zone can be seen in a native data field in a custom data screen. You can find the field in the category "Heart Rate Fields" in the data screen setup. You will need one data field per zone (I don't think there is a field showing all zones.)

After the activity you can see the time in each zone in the activity details in the watch or in Garmin Connect.

This is not what you are after?

Apologies to those who replied. My description was pretty poor!

I know the zones show as a bar graph in the completed activity but I'd like to see it as a line (scatter?) graph instead. Similar to how the cadence etc graphs that appear in completed activities.

    Does that make more sense?
  • Do you really want the graph to show time in zone?

Or do you want a graph which doesn't show time in zone, but simply shows which zone you were in at any given point in time?

If it is the former you want, I think you will need to explain what such a graph should look like, because I have trouble imagining what you mean.
  • RichardB Do you mean changing the heart rate graph in the activity review in GCM from plain red to actually change color along the horizontal axis according to the different pulse zones? (almost like the sleep phase graph?)

If that is what you're after, I totally agree!
  • On my F5X+, this is actually happening in the HR widget in the watch. Each portion of the trend is coloured with the colour of the heart rate zone I was in.

I agree that it would be nice to have the same presentation in Garmin Connect.

    This!

Imagine the cadence chart or heartrate chart; the x-axis remains as time and the y-axis is labelled Z1, Z2... Z5. The heartrate zone is plotted, per minute or whatever, against time. Bar graph, lines or dot, anything would work.

My Excel-fu is asleep today otherwise I'd do a mock-up to try and give you a visual idea.
