How about doing your first Ultramarathon and Garmin just makes an invalid file!?

I am so happy and proud I managed to finish my first ultramarathon race of 105k (Ciucas X3 in Romania) in just a shy of 23hrs. But after I saved the file the watch restarted and now I have an invalid file which does not sync!

Well done Garmin! That is a nice way to treat customers, by building confidence in your products! What can I do now? I tried garmin.kiesewetter.nl/ but it did not work and I cannot try as I do not own a Windows PC.

Garmin, I hope you are reading this and come up with a solution!

And by the way, did I mention I run it with a mild tress fracture of the 5th metatarsal bone :-) And after the race, I have no extra pain there...

Try pulling the file from the watch and loading manually into connect on the web. If that doesn't work, you can try the fit file repair tool.

Attach the file in a reply to the post and someone will run it thru the Fit File Repair Tool and try and fix it for you.

Any idea if there is a way to put back on the watch the repaired file and sync then? Will that replaced file appear on Garmin account? I know I can manually added it but hoping to get the badges for ultra :-)

You should still get the badges for ultra by doing a manual upload - and as far as I am aware, that is the only way to get it into Garmin Connect.
