Note: Please allow for the updates to propagate across all servers. There is no need to post that the link does not work. It will after a bit of patience.

10.55 Change Log Notes:

Fixed an occasional issue where the displayed lengths or distance during a pool swim could briefly show incorrect values.
GPS FW (2.24) should improve pace accuracy for running/walking activities and track performance for open water swimming activities.

Our public beta users are encouraged to load the new GPS firmware and use it for their next activities. If there are any activities where the GPS performance did not improve, we would like to see them. This also includes if comparing to previous activities. To send data to us for evaluation, please include the following in an email to [EMAIL="[email protected]"][email protected][/EMAIL]:

FIT file(s) from Garmin\Activity folder
- FIT files from previous activities if comparing same routes
GarminDevice.XML from the Garmin folder
Subject line of email must use the following format: ‘Fenix 5 Series - GPS 2.24 Evaluation - DATE_ForumUserID_ActivityType’ (ex. "20180823_odsweng_Walk")

Following these instructions will ensure your email and files are delivered and sorted correctly. Lastly, you will not get an email reply unless we need more information from you, but rest assured, the data sent will be evaluated.

Please send all bug reports to [EMAIL="[email protected]"][email protected][/EMAIL], and indicate which model of the fenix 5 series you have in the subject line.

Please note, the beta updates released on these forums are not suitable for APAC region devices.

Are you using a speed sensor?

I am using a cadence sensor, not a speed sensor. Before I pressed Done, the values appeared correct. It seemed to go nuts between the Done and Save actions as I briefly noticed the recovery information updating as I was attempting to finish up, and those numbers in recovery are what was saved as totals.
I will try another ride soon, and see if was a fluke.

My GPS version is showing: GPS v. 4.40 (!)
Imo it should show 2.24. Can someone help?

Ok after reconnecting to Garmin Express and after reinstalling it works. GPS is now 2.24

I can confirm that the pool swim length issue was fixed for me after updating to 10.55.

Since I upgraded to this beta for last three runs, and it could be a fluke, I am getting the most incredibly accurate track despite me running in the usual spots, building canyons/under trees/tunnels/open air and with poor rainy weather. Fenix5.

Was that with GPS+GALILEO?

most of the things work or do not work as with the official firmwares and betas before. gps + glanoss tracks very very well. but this was one of the things that always worked very precise on my fenix.

altimeter is the same for biking as before - totally useless. i believe i have to rma my fenix :-(

did one of my usual rides today (flat, not mtb) and got the following ascended meters:

fenix altimeter: 58 m (last week exactly the same route was 67 m - doesn't sound a lot, but still is more than 10% difference)
garmin connect online (gps corrected): 142 m
runtastic: 141 m (as every time on this route)

this is way more than 100% off and doesn't help at all.

EDIT: battery drain seems to be some % higher than before but still ok (for me).

Update didn't worked for me...
Watch indicate firmware 10.55. Garmin connect indicate firmware 10.00 ( I was in 10.51)
Watch still indicate gps firmware 2.20 and the GUP2957,GCD is still in the remoteSW folder...
Can somone help?

Followed instructions but no Galileo in my GPS settings.
Firmware 10.55 but says GPS firmware is "4.40 (!)", which is disconcerting...

Edit: OK as somebody above discovered, you have to reconnect to Express, then unplug watch again and it'll say there's another update to install, this time it 'updates' the GPS from v4.40 to v2.20. Then connect to Express again, unplug it again, install the new update that appears... finally at GPS v2.24!

Had a run with gps 2.24 and Galileo selected, the track is really bad, every line is very jittery. It's not often smooth on the fenix but this looks either the same or worse than usual. No tall buildings here.
