how to use the function navigate within the running activity

Hi,

just own my fenix 5s for 2 weeks.
I have created through garmin connect several tracks (10km), and then uploaded them in the watch.
I then use the activity "navigate", load my track, and start the run. Navigate give me direction step by step, turn after turn.

When my run is finished, it is saved in my profile as "Navigate" activity.
How could I make the watch to consider this is a running activity (instead of a navigate activity?)

Start your run activity as usual (start> select run/trail run/whatever and press Start again). Hold down the Up key till the menu pops up, scroll to Navigation>Courses>select the course you want to use,select Do Course.
You're not the first to ask this, it isn't at all clear from the manual.
I don't really understand the point of the Navigate activity; you can use courses as above in any GPS-based activity with whatever your standard screens are, and it ends up in connect with the activity type you picked.

That's right #2, but you don't even need to press start the second time: you can access navigation after the first step described above, i.e., after one press of the Start button, when an activity is simply highlighted but not yet activated.
