Swim lap count goes wrong 7,8,9,10,11,22!!!

Mine has just done an update to 10.00 and now the swim laps go wrong. its not constant but always goes wrong ( it never gets sequence right)

Example 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,22,23,24,25,36,37,41

At the end of the swim, the distance and everything is OK so it knows it has done the right o. of lengths

Anyone else got this problem?
Any suggestions?
Can I downgrade... it has been fine before this and this is the only reason I have the watch? Where can I get files from?

I really can't understand how bad Garmin are 1 step forward... 10 back I am a software developer by trade and this is unbelievable. Have they not heard of unit testing!

    Even if they have heard of it, they do not apply it very well. This is not the first time that Garmin breaks something that worked perfectly well in older firmware.

    "die Anzahl der Bahnen wird falsch gezählt. Alle 5-6 Minuten (meist bei der Wende oder kurz danach) werden innerhalb 1 Sekunde plötzlich ca. 8 Bahnen zusätzlich gezählt, also: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,17,18,19 ... . Und zwar unabhängig vom Schwimmstil - sowohl bei Kraulen, Brust und Rücken. Ich schwimme die Bahnen sauber durch (keine Hindernisse / kein Schwimmstilwechsel innerhalb einer Bahn o.ä. - daran liegt es also nicht).
    Merkwürdig: der Distanzalarm funktioniert korrekt, auf der Uhr werden aber nach z.B. 30 Bahnen schon über 60 Bahnen angezeigt (während der Aktion). Auch die Distanz wird während der Aktion falsch angezeigt (Anzahl der Bahnen x eingestellte Bahnenlänge; z.B. 60 x 33,3m = 2000m anstatt 1000m), nach Beenden der Aktion wird die Distanz dann aber korrekt angezeigt (z.B. 30 x 33,3m = 1000m).
    Auch in Garmin Connect wird nach dem Synchronisieren die korrekte Distanz mit der korrekten Bahnenzahl (!) angezeigt.
    Es handelt sich also "nur" um ein Darstellungsproblem der Rundenanzahl auf der Uhr während einer Aktivität."

    The number of lanes is counted incorrectly Every 5 to 6 minutes (usually at the turn or shortly thereafter), suddenly about 8 lanes are counted within 1 second, ie: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 , 8,9,17,18,19 ... And regardless of the swimming style - both with crawl, chest and back. I swim through the tracks clean (no obstacles / no swimming style change within a train or similar - it is not so).
    Strange: the distance alarm works correctly, but on the clock after 30 tracks already over 60 lanes displayed (during the action). Also, the distance is displayed incorrectly during the action (number of lanes x set lane length, eg 60 x 33.3m = 2000m instead of 1000m), but after the action is completed, the distance is displayed correctly (eg 30 x 33.3m = 1000m) ,
    Also in Garmin Connect the correct distance with the correct number of lanes (!) Is displayed after synchronization.
    So it's "only" a problem of displaying the number of laps on the clock during an activity. "

    I really don't understand how they get something so simple wrong.. Incrementing a number by 1! (Count++) ... even my 5 year old son could do it!

    Now how long until it is fixed? Can I go back a firmware?
  • I´ve tried to downgrade: http://gawisp.com/perry/fenix_D2_tactix/
    I just copied the file ("fenix5_920.gcd" renamed GUPDATE.GCD) into the Garmin main folder. I disconnected the watch from the computer.

    Normally after disconnect the installation option should appear. But nothing happens! After connecting to the computer again there is no more "GUPDATE.GCD".
    What am I doing wrong?

    "Ein generelles Problem mit dem Zählen von Bahnen im Schwimmbad während einer Aktivitätsaufzeichnung ist derzeit nicht bekannt." :mad::mad::mad:
    ("A general problem with the counting of lanes in the pool during activity recording is currently unknown.").

    Please: everyone with this problem should contact Garmin-Support - otherwise they will ignore it!
  • They have just fix it on Fenix 5 Plus line in latest beta came out today (4.64), I hope they will fix soon also for Fenix 5 line...
  • Same issue with the lap counting bug and on top, the "last length pace" is not displayed during the swim, shows "--:--". So I have downgraded manually back to 9.20. To Wilx01: You can download - https://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=11663. Unpack the .zip and copy the "GUPDATE.GCD" from "System_Backdate_v920" folder to the Garmin folder on your watch, then disconnect and it will automatically re-install. In my case though, it reset all the settings and apps back to the factory ones.

    With latest 4.64 beta, they have solved total distance data field bug but they introduced empty interval pace and interval swolf data field! Unbelievable! They have fixed one bug and soon they have introduced another one!
  • Same here with latest firmware, distance shows 650 meters when I’ve only swam 400 in a 25 metre pool.
    It worked flawlessly with previous firmware ????
