Garmin offering a fixed F5 to replace mine with. Any feedback from others?

Having complained about various issues related to mostly GPS (pace) /Elevation and Ant+ (only when using my stages PM with a weaker signal) - Garmin have said that they were waiting on and recently received new units that fixes these issues. If I arrange to have my collected, they will send another out.

Has anyone else received a replacement unit that supposedly fixes the above problems? If so, have you noticed considerable improvements?

Be good to hear some feedback.

Thanks!

    Hi,
I am in the middle of a nightmare with Garmin. I bought a Fenix 5s last October, in April battery life was 5 hrs with 25% residual, against the 14 hours declared. I have had so far 2 replacements which were even worse than the item I bought in the first place. They sent me a 'refurbished' item to replace mine, so I got a used device that they got back presumably because it was faulty itself in the first place. This one had battery life = 7.15 with 10% residual. After lengthy discussion, I was promised I would be sent a new inboxed device. I was returned anothe runboxed watch instead (maybe the refurbished item that I returned, maybe my original device? another refurbished item? Who knows, with a sheet of paper that said the item was tested an no issue was found with it. I am considering going to the ombudsman to get the issue redressed.
Customer service was useless and kept me hours on the phone. All was agreed on those calls was then not done.
  • Garmin customer service is shocking, I filled the repair form in on the website as I'd managed to crack the screen on my Fenix 5s and heard nothing for 3 weeks, sent them direct messages on twitter......nothing!
I emailed the CEO Jon Oliver twice and then a lady named Allison emailed me and said she'd esculated the case, I'd been quoted £120 for a refurbished model but due to the woeful service I asked for a discount and Allison reduced it to £80.
Had an email last Monday to say my watch had been dispatched, picked the parcel up on Wednesday from the UPS drop off point, opened it up when I got to work and was just expecting the watch body as that was what I'd sent to Garmin.
Imagine my surprise..........a brand new one in a sealed box and it's working better than the old one!!
