Garmin Fenix 5 Golf App

Hi Guys,
So I received my new Garmin Fenix 5 today. Wanted to have both a fitness and a Golf watch and Fenix seemed to be the best choice.
Now when I try the Golf App and downloaded a course I can only see the total distance from tee to the green. I was hoping that my watch would give me the exact distance from where I am to green not the actual "blueprint" of the course, that I can read on the signes next to each tee.

Have I missed something or is this the only data that the app will give me? Not updated information on where the watch is located on the course? Constantly giving me accurate information on the distance to green?

Thanks!
  • If you are testing inside a house (no GPS found) then distance you see is from tee to green but outside on a course it is the actual distance from where you are to mid/back/front of the green.

Hi again, thanks for your answer. I have tried several courses and Im outside (my backyard) but I can only see the total distance from tee to green. Not from my position. GPS is turning green before the app starts. Don't know if im to faar away so it displays only the course data and not from my watch since Im too far away?
  • Sounds like a good guess and a logical way the watch handles it. If you are too far away from the cource then it's no meaning to display the actual distance. I recommend that you test Golf app on a course and play aroung with it brfore starting the round. Note that beside the distance to the green you can also get distances to obstacles (bunker, water) by pressing the startbutton and go to that option.
I have used my F5 on my rounds this summer and it works pretty well. The only concern is that it takes a remarkable long time to sync the score-card to Garmin Connect after the round. About 15 minutes!!!
