did you run the install on the watch? Its not enough to just copy the files over, you have to run the install...

and GC on the MAC/PC will still say 9.20 - look at settings -> about on the watch

(Mac user here, I've done the update on a mac no problem)!

Ah, I only copied the files over doh. How do I run the install - do I need to reconnect to the Mac or is it just a process with the watch? Thank you.
  • I'm noticing that no one has complained about the battery life yet. Can I assume y'all are not experiencing any battery drain issues? What about during activity?

I am experiencing a drop in battery life. It's not a disaster but I'd say the watch now drains battery 50% faster than before. Will keep a close eye on the issue.

A whooping jump UP in Tree Benchmark score - 2444 from bellow 1000 on 9.72. It feels snappier too. I hope the battery keeps longer as well Congrats! Good job!

I wonder though why each firmware update messes my widgets order. Not a big deal, but it happens.

Yeah I tried that, it just lets me toggle auto updates on or off, but there doesn't seem to be an option of manually updating / navigating to the new firmware, which I would have thought is somewhere in the filing system on the watch. I've seen a similar previous post by someone with the same problem but no resolution seen yet. I've emailed Garmin re this too. Thanks again for trying to assist.

If you've restarted it will have deleted the updates so

    Connect to mac
    Copy the files over
    unplug
    Go to menu
  • I can confirm that open water swimming GPS is still appalling (it all started with Galileo introduction of GPS 2.20). Garmin is aware of it. Distance builds up most of the time only when you stop and keep your watch out of the water, so you end up with spikes of Superman pace, and the graph shows you swimming in zig-zag...
