Last weekend I tried a new route in Belgium. Instead of the coloured track on my screen I only got blue ‘direction signs’ (see picture) where the Garmin thought appropriate and no TBT warnings. Difficult on multiple crossings when the next sign wasn’t on the same screen. Very annoying.
I thought it had to do with the source of the route, but after PlotARoute.com I also tried Afstandmeten.nl and Garmin Connect. Same results. New routes in France? No direction signs. (Couldn’t try TBT yet.) I use the OpenTopoMaps on my Fenix 5x, but even after I switched off the Belgium map and thus used the native Garmin map of Western Europe (TopoActive).
