Fenix 5X - 9.72 Beta Release

Hello Fenix 5X users,

We have new beta software ready for your upcoming adventures!

Note: Please allow for the updates to propagate across all servers. There is no need to post that the link does not work. It will after a bit of patience.

9.72 Change Log Notes:

Improvements to pool swim distance accuracy.
Improved route recalculations when navigating.
Fixed a rare issue which could cause the watch to restart at the end of certain workouts.
Fixed an issue where the abnormal heart rate alert would auto-dismiss after 30 seconds.
Made several bug fixes and code improvements with CIQ SDK 3.0.

Please note, the beta updates released on these forums are not suitable for APAC region devices.

and once again no mention of fixing any of the elevation issues

First 9 hours, 3% battery usage. 0.33%/h, good. With v9.72 and Garmin wf.
Now I only have to do an activity to see if that is back to normal 5-7%/h...

l downgraded v9.71 to 9.53 due to the battery drain.
If you downgrade, check your gps version. Mine didnt downgrade and I still had the galileo option and too much battery usage during activity.

I have v9.72 but still GPS 4.40. Why? I placed the files in the correct folder included gps file and upgraded process gone correct. Why still on gps 4.40 and how I can downgrade to 2.20 to get Galileo?

your beta version 6.83 for the altimeter is good, why you can not overwrite and check that code?

Charged yesterday late evening after installing 9.72 and soft resetting, left 1h more charging at 100%, after 13h and 45' swim at the shore with gps+galileo i am now at 94%.
If the rate is confirmed in the next days this is the best beta-release.
To Jalapa42 : go to setting, down to system, down till you find "update", you should find the gps waiting permission to be updated. (the 2.20 is the newer one)

Can you add stroke data to the kayak app. Also fix the constant drops between 5x and varia heads up. I need to continuously cycle power on varia during activity

Please email the beta email address and send .fit files of your activities where the elevation is messed up.

This beta appears to have a materially-better power consumption profile (less drain) than the previous 9.71. I need more time to confirm but on first blush (overnight) it appears to be so.
