UltraTrac issue

Hello Everyone,
I start using my Fenix 5x in Ultratrac mode since a few Months.
Recently, I participated to 90km race and discovered that the registered km were totally wrong. End recorded distance was 120km. Quite a hudge difference which I don’t understand.
Could anyone explain what goes wrong and how to solve it?

PS: it was even worse when connecting with Stava as the distance that appeared in Strava was 160km...
I really don’t understand...

tx for your help.

  • When you stop somewhere the watch still counts the distance,

That's a GPS thing with all GPS devices and always has been. The only way to stop that happening is to stop the device when stopped.
  • One solution to keep distance and pace reasonable when using UltraTrac is to get a foot pod and set it to Speed/Pace>Always and Distance>Always. That way you will still get the live info on where you are and approximate GPS track recorded, without the inconsistencies of UltraTrac messing up the distance accrual (if you stand still with a foot pod, it won’t add distance).

Thanks for this, actually I have stryd, so I can use for hiking too
