Watch Wear & Tear - Any Suggestions?

I've been getting red marks on my wrist from wearing my Garmin Fenix 5 daily. This used to occur on my Right wrist so I switched sides for a while, but recently the red marks have returned. I don't necessarily pull the watch band too tight, however, it has been hot recently so could be chafing.

Do any of you get this problem? Do you have any solutions/suggestions? Are there any alternative bands which alleviate this problem? Could it be a simple case of moisturising in the morning? I know most of you will say "just switch sides for a while" but I don't fancy having watch tan-lines on both arms - call me superficial...

Cheers for reading/responding, and remember, keep it rouleur.

Perhaps one solution would be to just switch wrists overnight. That way you would still get sleep data, your skin under the wrist would get a chance to breathe, and there would be no tan line issue.

Think this is the most logical solution, it would give the affected areas a chance to air out without any drawbacks, thanks for your suggestion as I’ll certainly be putting it into practice!

Does make me wonder though if there should be some kind of warning on the product packaging, or recommendation to switch overnight, or smart sensor built into the watch to warn you when you’ve been wearing it on the same wrist too long. As this rash thing isn’t very common knowledge, and could cause serious problems or limitations to people with more sensitive skin, such as savinoff’s wife.

Update: Since, showering everyday with watch off, with follow-up anti-bacterial handwash targeted at the watch band, full drying and then wearing all-day/night, I am still having the same problem, in fact it’s gotten worse, but hopefully with the suggestion noted above it’ll begin to get better. I’ll report back in due course!

If this doesn’t work I’ll be sure to buy the leather strap in hope it alleviate some of the rubber grip which may be adding pressure to the skin.

    Meanwhile, keep it rouleur!
