I just checked the watch. You can specify connection type for each of the connected sensors.
Back from the ride. Zero drop outs now that the fenix 5 is connected via ANT+!!
Unfortunately it is documented nowhere how to connect via ANT+. I will inform Velocomp so that other guys can fix it as well.
Glad you figured it out. You had me second guessing. I went back to the velocomp site and double checked. Sometimes, I like to ride with earbuds so wouldn't be able to use both if powerpod was BLE only. I hope it arrives soon so I can put it through its paces.
Do you have a fenix 5X oder 6? Maybe Garmin added this feature. My fenix 5 saphire edition is not able to do that. The PowerPod BLE (old version) appears as two distinct sensors.. one connected wirhLE and the other with ANT+. But hey it works now and thats all I need. Have a great weekend! Hopefully with a nice ride
I have the 5x sapphire.
Hi John! So you confirm that Garmin will provide performance data and VO2 Max on cycling with the PowerPod? I'm looking at buying the model in the picture...is that the same you have?
I have V4 model which looks different than the model shown. It does provide VO2 max data with my fenix 5x. I have since upgraded to a 6x and get vo2 max. You must have a speed sensor paired with the powerpod for it to give you data. You are also provided with software from velocomp that provides you with a means of viewing and interpreting your ride data.
Excellent information thanks!
