5 missing cycling from activity tracker since 9.20

My watch updated to 9.20 a few weeks ago and all was well. Then a week ago I woke up to the 9.20 update message again and the tracking has been off since.

I use the watch face Mechanical as this tracked my overall distance as well as steps. Since this second update it has not been including cycling in the distance tracker. It is also not including cycling in calories tracker. I completed a 100 mile cycle challenge on Sunday. The activity showed I burned 2200 calories (more on this in a minute) over 6 and a half hour. The calories tracker showed my total for the day as 2300 which is my normal daily expenditure.

I cycle to and from work every day so like to keep on eye on my overall distance and calorie. When I left this morning I was on 502 calories. 9 miles later and the activity summery showed 130 calories burned. My tracker shows 583. The math isn't adding up there. The calorie calculation has also gone sideways. That ride normally shows as about 180. My Garmin 820 reports it as the same if I use that.

I have checked and my activity level hasn't changed and my heart rate zones are the same. I've tried it with and without Physiotrue on.

Other than a full reset and losing my history I'm not sure what to do.
  • I had noticed that the distance was now only the walking distance but I hadn't clicked about the calories as I was thinking the count was unusually low but thought I just hadn't been pushing myself that hard. I'll need to keep a closer eye on it but if what you're saying is correct that's going to a frustrating change as I've found the calorie counter very useful in indicating when I've been burning through more calories than I thought and need to eat more.
