I just got mine from China 1$ (shipping included) I think the texture is awful compared to the silicon strap I'm wondering why did they refused to used the same premium silicon they use for the wrist bands.....
I understand that some people want to protect things for 700 bucks. I have different opinion on these protection cases. Unless you are an everyday rock climber you do not really need them. The construction of the watch is protective enough and silicon case on the watch looks really ugly (sorry, yes, all of them), question is if really the function of i.e. barometer is really the same. The watch you may have maximum 4 years, then you buy some new model anyway and the case should last with its build quality. I also think, that if they look a bit worn it looks nicer than this ugly silicone cases :) In fact, I am more afraid of durability of harware inside to last for 4 years - battery, barometer etc than the case.
I'm interested in them from the point of view of comfort. I must have a skinny/boney wrist or something because every now and then I find that the watch is banging on my wristbone, even if I have the strap done up quite tightly. Normally in this case I turn the watch to the inside of my wrist and that takes care of it. However, this isn't ideal for some activities like bike-riding when I'd like not to have to take my hand off the handles or for rock scrambling when the watch would be too exposed on the underneath of my arm.
So, anyone found that any of these silicone cases helps stop the watch from hitting or pressing on the wristbone? If so, which particular model? I see from the images above that the bit of the watch that the strap connects to isn't covered and it is one bit that hits my wristbone, as does the 'start' button itself, which is covered by that particular model.
Thanks, Terry
UPDATE: I got one (two actually 'cos they are cheap) of the ones portrayed above by stockae92 and YES! I found that it reduces the 'bone-banging' in two ways. Softens the impact, but also reduces the slipping of the watch when slippery.
I've MTBed using my Fenix 5X on my wrist and have ended up with bruising with my wrist getting battered. I would think that if anything, this protector would lessen the impact.
