I took a 10km run yesterday (in Germany) with a FR235 (GPS - 1sec) and the Fenix5s (GPS+Galileo-1sec). With the new GPS+Galileo setting, the actual route was determined a bit more precisely. Fewer curves were cut (see e.g. the attached pictures). However, the recorded distance is much more unstable and corresponds to a larger ZigZag pattern than the FR235, resulting in a small difference of approx. 110m (approx. 1%) over the entire distance.ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1373139.png
  • wow, this is a long beta phase - no updates for a while.
it would be great if the devs would take this/their time to fix some of the bigger bugs now. less new features and fixed bugs instead would be a good step in the right direction. keep the fingers crossed.

I've downloaded the 9.71 zip file and performed the steps outlined for updating, but when I go to the About screen it still shows I'm running 9.20. The GUPDATE file does show in the directory after I copy it over, and it disappears after a restart. Is there something else I need to do to get it to accept the update?

Did you go to Settings - System and install the update? Its not enough to just copy it over, you have to run the install on the watch

I do have a Software Update selection in System, but my only options there are AutoUpdate on/off (I have it set to on). When I installed the 9.20 beta I had the same problem (wouldn't install). I'm on the release version of 9.2 now. I'm hoping the 9.71 addresses the battery drain (drops much faster than 8), as well as a problem with thinking I've met my goal of climbing stairs when I haven't gone up or down a single flight.
