  • Improved a case in v9.53 that could have caused battery drain for the Fenix 5X

Please note, the beta updates released on these forums are not suitable for APAC region devices.
  • Let’s get the activity elevation issue fixed, please!!!

Yes please fix the altimeter problem.... (after swimming clibration is very, very, very slow :()
  • Let’s get the activity elevation issue fixed, please!!!

    I agree
  • have you returned the Fenix 5x plus already?

Not yet, i'm still in a return window...
  • Thanks Garmin! Definite improvement on battery. I went from 2+% per hour to .2%. Huge improvement. Also, the delay I was experiencing when moving from the watch face to an activity or widget was drastically improved. Thanks again!

Unfortunately, not in my case. Can you tell me what kind of wf and widget are you using?

    thks
  • Can you elaborate a bit more? Are you experiencing more or less of a battery drain? Or are you referring to the lag?

I'm sorry, i'm experiencing the same battery drain (more or less 30% by day). Lag is present only from wf to widget, not from widget to widget.

    Thank you!
  • Huge improvement in battery from 9.20 to 9.71. Thanks!
  • Really?? That's good to hear! Do you usage you could share with us?

Are you still experiencing lag with third party watch faces?

I applied the 9.71 beta, fully charged the watch and did a soft reset (holding the light button for 25s).
    • The watch was fully charged at 100% and put on my wrist at 14:00 yesterday.
    • This morning it was 96%.
    • I took the dog for a walk this morning (35m w/GPS + GLONASS) and the watch was at 92%.
    • Now, 13:00, ~23h later the watch is at 90%.
Performance switching screens is not quite what it was on 8.00, but it seems to be better than 9.20.
  • No battery issues here, 24 hrs of usage since update and charge, 2hr 30min MTB session with GPS+Galileo and per second data recording, plus HRM and Cadence sensors via ANT+, BT on, connected to phone plus notifications of which I've had lots today and still at 84% battery.

Standard watchface used as all lag eliminated this way.
  • Experiencing lag to time zone widget mainly.
Old barometer not acceptance of calibration bug still present but this time a little bit different. Tried to calibrate, didn't accept. Soft reset and then for my surprise the number that I was trying to enter for calibration and the F5x hadn't accept was already there...
Let´s see if it happens again or if was only in the first time after the upgrade.
  • Successfully updated, but I don't see Galileo option. Is there an extra step to getting that?

You select it within the relevant activity settings not through the main settings route.

For example Run / long press up to get settings / then run settings / scroll down to GPS
