Battery drain FW 9.2?

I’ve noticed a significant increase in battery consumption since my fenix 5 sapphire upgraded to 9.2.

I was pretty consistently seeing 5-6% per day - now I’m seeing this double that.

Is is anybody else experiencing the same?

I have noticed exactly the same behavior.
It is draining twice as fast as with release 8.0

I Have now disabled 'True Up', just to see if it does a difference
  • On my watch true up is not activated and I have noticed the same problem. 2% of battery per hour without the wrist FC and without sport acivities.
Thank you garmin for this new version of all these new bugs.
  • It's good practice after an update to do a soft reset - this often clears up any looping code issues.

The most common cause of battery drain issues are custom watch faces. If a soft reset doesn't work, try removing any custom watch faces. If that solves your battery drain issue, then try re-installing.
  • I am having the same issue. I followed the steps listed and it didn't help. After following the steps above and without reinstalling watch faces it was down to 92% in 1hr. It was fully charged last night and this morning it was down to 75%(prior to trying a soft reset and uninstalling watch faces) My battery has always drained a little faster than my friends with bluetooth, ohr, move alerts, and backlight turned off but now it is ridiculous. I could get about 4 days on a charge before. Not sure what I will get now I am going to let it drain and see how many days I get. I have a 5s and it lasts maybe 8.5hrs with GPS running prior to the update, now I don't know. I haven't had a chance to try out GPS yet.

Normally, my fenix 5s drops to 90% the most until the end of a day. After the update I am down to 79% at midday. Agree watch faces can have impact on battery, but with the same face (custom or not) the battery live should remain the same after a FW update. I will try the soft reset and see if this improves something.

I also had issues getting GPS signal. Normally, it happens within seconds once I chose the activity e.g. running. Yesterday, the first time on FW 9.2, it took several minutes and all I could get was an orange circle (usually I only start running when it's green). The tracking was working though and the run was put correctly onto the map. Anybody else has issues with GPS signal acquisition recently?

I'm not having any battery issues on my Tactix Charlie. I do 45-60 mins run 6 days a week with GPS and Glonass on. I'm losing 7-8% per 24hrs including sleep tracking and 24/7 heart rate.

I charged mine to 100% on Thursday last week when i did a map update and the update to 9.20. I'm on 63% as I type this.

I charged my Fenix 5S 4 hours ago. Then: 1 hour on bike and 1 hour running. Now 73%.
