Since Garmin had to redesign the the 5 plus to get sensors and GPS to work correctly, isn't it time for Garmin to acknowledge the fenix 5(s) doesn't work as advertised and provide an exchange program?
This is suitable for class action against Garmin, as was the case with Apple. Only that Apple confessed to being wrong and Garmin got water in his mouth.
Well Garmin will sell you "brand new" 5 Plus for crazy price and act like nothing really happened. Would like to hear at least we are sorry, we f...ed up the original Fenix 5...
It won't happen, as much as I wish it would. Garmin customer support has already confirmed there will be no replacement or upgrade program for those of us who have a faulty Fenix 5.
Just tuning in here....what is the consistent complaint regarding the Garmin Fenix5? I find the HR monitor can read really high HR at times if my HR changes quickly (sitting to walking up stairs fast)...I bought mine from REI and if it's credible issue I may look into a return.
The usual cause of high wrist HR readings is poor positioning and placement. The watch band should be snug, and positioned on the fleshy part of the wrist, well away from the wrist bone (this is higher and tighter than most people are used to wearing a watch). This gives the watch more blood supply to measure, and prevents external light from entering the sensor with each arm swing.
