Kayak Activity

Well the Kayak Activity came with 9.20 and it is somewhat underwhelming.

All you get over the SUP Activity is a different logo for the life of me I cannot understand why the Kayak Activity does not have the option of adding the stoke fields that are in the SUP Activity.

So I'll just have to junk the Kayak Activity and use my edited version of the SUP for my Kayaking.

The sensors exist, please add the fields to the activity. Cadence, strokes. Seriously.

Totally agree and am pretty sure I started a similar discussion. Ridiculous, it is currently nothing but a timed event with the kayak heading.

Underwhelming is a bit of an understatement. The ONLY good thing about the new app is the logo. It now looks like a kayak. Yay. Garmin, please get serious about this. It's pretty simple. We need all the stroke and pace fields, AND the all important cadence field. Right now the only real option kayakers have is to use the data field app DozenPaddle. It's great, but we can't get all the data to garmin connect. To get the cadence data, you need to add the data field the bike app, to get the stroke and pace data, you need to add the data field to the SUP app. Nothing for both. This is hugely disappointing.

Yes, very upsetting. I upgraded from 5X to 6X only for that kayak app. What a gross mistake I have done. Garmin, this is a very old topic you have not yet solved....

Garmin should really add the data fields for both cadence and power meters. The devices exist and we can use them with other activity types, but this results in the wrong sports type on Garmin Connect.

So many years and the same issue!

Kayak is an Olympic sport since forever! Still Garmin doesn't pay attention to it, while Sup is and other less important sports have complete apps.

Also Garmin reserves to Kayak app only to the more expensive models, like if it were a premium feature/app, just to buyers find out it useless after spending more to a more "complete" watch.
