The original 5x is fully capable of using the elevation data from the maps yet garmin has yet to implement it. Also the GPS chip is fully capable of using the galileo network but they refuse again to update it for us.
Personally (and I know there's a lot of differing opinions re this) I would like the on board music facility, it would save me having to take my phone on a run with me, however I can't see me paying the extra to just get that facility. I wonder if there is the potential to install the music facility on the current 5x (surely if it has the storage capacity its only a piece of software)?

No, it needs different hardware for a bluetooth headset as this is not the same as BLE accessories. The 5X could never get music even if Garmin had a desire to add it.
