Temperature

Has anyone noticed their temps are way out??? We are at the start of winter, temp was about 11c, my activity showed a temp average of 19.1c 25.00c being the top. I note on other forums, recent upgrades have screwed temperature values and recordings......

Hi, fi you use internal sensor it shows mixed tempreture value between your body temp and air temp. My external sensor (tempe) shows almost exactly temperature as is aroud the sensor (+-1C).
  • I have same results with TEMPE, but it occasionally drops out for a minute during an activity.

The internal sensor is not of any use for giving you external temperature reading while wearing it on your writst.. never has been and never will be - as GF3 stated, it will be influenced by your body temperature. It is primarily used internally to calculate barometric/altitude readings. If you take it off and let it settle then it will eventually settle to the ambient temperature. There are a few cases where it might be useful but I don't bother even showing the widget. If you need ambient temp, get the TEMPE (but watch where you place it as well).
  • The internal sensor will show the values near to real temperature (+- 2°C) after about 20 minutes, if you don’t wear it on your wrist. For a better result, a temp senor is required, as mentioned before.
  • My setup for a Tempe. Attached to a #3 B-Biner and easy to clip where's convenient. I read where someone attached it to the brim of their running hat.ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1359495.png
