Please note, the beta updates released on these forums are not suitable for APAC region devices.
  • Installed without problems. Why no mention of "Added support for REM sleep phase detection and improved the accuracy of the existing sleep algorithm."? (as for FR 935)
  • could someone from garmin please answer my question!?!?

after fw 8.99 the distance of any activity is NOT added to the daily total distance. if my steps make 3 km and an activity is 20 km, my total distance of a day ist 3 km. this was not like this in fw 8.99 and before.

is this meant to be like this in you new opinion or is there something wrong with the new betas???? who cares about the distance taken by steps only?

if you make fundamental changes in calculating/displaying data and results, you should tell about it.
  • Which distance field are you talking about? Is this something on a watch face?
  • i am talking about the total distance of a day. the distance is wrong in garmin connect (online), on my watch face and in a widget. including fw 8.99 and before the distance of activities was added to the total distance of a day.

see on the screenshot how it looks now: 3.287 steps + a mountain bike tour of 37,18 km makes a total distance of the day = 2,8 km ???ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1357450.png
  • I see what you mean now. My 14 mile bike ride was not included in that figure yesterday, but my 5 mile run and the rest of my walking was.

Would be interested to hear if this is included as well. Seem like it would be if the 935 got it.

but it is not acceptable that the distance of (at least some) activities suddenly isn't added to the total distance anymore. this was done until fw 8.99 and this is the normal behavior one would expect - distance is distance.
the fenix is expected to be more on the professional or serious side of sports devices and i want to know the total distance of a day including all activities - not just steps.

i already wrote about this problem after fw 9.02 came out, but garmin doesn't even care or respond or fix this. fw 9.10 is a release candidate, so i have my doubts, that this will be fixed any soon. i am really angry about the way garmin behaves and releases one piece of software worse than the other (no matter if it is firmware or the ios garmin connect).

  • Bandit, This could be a connect server side error. It may not be a cause for them to hold up the watch firmware release. I'll email the beta team as well and i'm sure they will fix it if possible. It just may not happen as fast as you'd like. I can only imagine that the "physio true up" stuff has made all sorts of back end web changes. I doubt that the Fenix team is uninterested in fixing this issue.

  • nmyeti, i doubt that this is a connect server side error. i would think that the data is first on the watch and then the watch is sending the data to the server. at least on my watch face and a widget the total distance was correct before, as it was on garmin connect online. now the total distance isn't correct on my watch either.

but you may be right with the assumption, that that "physio true up" messed up things.
