route calculation error. Not enough memory available

If I try to navigate to a location, my 5x gives an error " route calculation error. Not enough memory available".
I deleted all my activities, but still the same error.
There is no extra's installed on the watch.

Does anybody have an idea how to fix this?

How far is the destination? I had it draw 130 KM routes but further the destination, more the memory it'll use. I think it doesn't mean the storage but the RAM on the device or RAM amount set for the routing application i? not enough for the job.

It was only about 5 km. it had worked before on much greater distances.

Did this start occurring after the latest big map update by any chance?

It was after the latest map update..
However, I decided to reset the unit to factory settings, and after a hike this morning, it seems to work fine again.
(Just like Windows, once a year reformat and install again)

I have exactly the same problem as mentioned by the op...

Fenix 5x plus 8.40...latest maps.

Error code not enough memory.. when trying to navigate to... for instance a poi.....or plot on the map.....even a short distance is not possible.... on the pre installed maps.... or any other map I've installed. The answer is to power cycle my watch when it happens....about every 5 to 9 activities.

Also Motorcycle and Automobile routing has been discontinued on my device.... but works with third party routable maps.

I'll report it by phone to customer support.
