Fenix 5: http://www8.garmin.com/support/downl...s.jsp?id=11663

Note: Please allow for the updates to propagate across all servers. There is no need to post that the link does not work. It will after a bit of patience.

9.02 Change Log Notes:
• Added Physio TrueUp support. Physio TrueUp syncs activities done on other Garmin devices, allowing your device to more accurately reflect your training status and fitness. Activities from other devices will appear in the Activities menu, and they will update your Totals for Running, Cycling, and Swimming. Your Training Status, Training Load, and VO2 Max will be updated using activities from your other devices, and your Recovery Time will be also updated using data from other devices supporting Physio TrueUp. Enable Physio TrueUp in Settings > Physiological Metrics on the device or in Device Settings on Garmin Connect Mobile.
Please send all bug reports to "][email protected], and indicate which model of the fenix 5 series you have in the subject line.

Please note, the beta updates released on these forums are not suitable for APAC region devices.
• After a run of 10km this morning with Beta 9.02, I synchronization with G express, Vo2max has been uploaded to GC and GCM as before beta 8.99 (VO2max from runs performed with beta 8.99 have not been recovered in GC and GCM). Training effect of this morning run also uploaded in GC (but not to in GCM...). Training status was uploaded in GC and GCM.
Seems beta 9.02 corrected the issue of beta 8.99 which didn't upload the VO2max to GC and GCM.
• Ok I'll test it out with tomorrows run but won't be happy if the 8.54 data is lost in the aether

I think training effect sync's over at midnight
• Sounds interesting, especially for those (like me) who use a seperate bike GPS device.

But seems like it may not be supported unless on edge 1030.

Has anyone tried this with a garmin 520 or 820 to see if the training load is synced back to the fenix 5?

My current work around is to record my activities on both watch and edge
• As I understand it, Physio True-Up it just the 5X syncing activities with Garmin Connect. Any device that uploads to GC is supported it’s just you will be able to see that devices history or effect on your training data on the 5X

This is what I was referring to but I will be the first to say that at this point I have no idea how it will work in the end.

DC Rainmaker

"Garmin says they're working on it, and in fact just yesterday committed that this feature will roll out starting in April to devices that support these new metrics. It’s already being used/tested internally at Garmin. Specifically, the following units will cross-transfer the advanced data:

Edge 1030
Fenix 5/5S/5X
Forerunner 645/645 Music
Forerunner 935
Vívoactive 3

I’ve yet to see it in action, but from talking with them they’re saying that the various FirstBeat driven metrics will then sync across the board between the supported devices listed above. So if you go for a run with the FR645, it’ll have the training load data from your Edge 1030 from the day prior accounted for. As for why older devices aren’t supported, it’s simply that none of those older devices have these specific FirstBeat training load/recovery metrics (they do have variants of other metrics though). A simple way to remember which devices are compatible and which aren’t is that it’s basically devices made from 2017 onwards that support the new FirstBeat metrics that are generally only on higher end devices."
• perhaps somebody will want to try this out / confirm it works: master reset the fenix 5 / 935, connect it back to the garmin account...and it shoud in theory update the vo2 / training load / lactate information / etc back on the watch ;-)
• i have a problem with the value of "distance" (in today or the watch face) since 9.02: today i went for a bike ride with about 37 km. "distance" in today is only 1.4 km, which was the value before the ride. this is the first time this happens. some days ago with fw 8.99 everything was fine.
• Thank you Garmin, works great. My ride from this morning (Edge 1030) just got synced to my Fenix 5S.ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1353684.png

Cool and how about the other stuff like training load and recovery time? I have a marathon in less than a week so I will have to wait with beta firmware...
• Yes! I have the same recovery time on all my devices Edge 1030, Fenix 5X and my FR935, I am seeing different training load numbers on all three devices and my Fenix 5X has the same Vo2 for running and cycling where as the other two are correct. I have a short run today and I am thinking of riding with the Edge 820 and see if it updates to the watch.
