Fenix 5X - 9.02 Public Beta

Hello Fenix 5X users,

We have new beta software ready for your upcoming adventures!

Fenix 5X: http://www8.garmin.com/support/downl...s.jsp?id=11665

Note: Please allow for the updates to propagate across all servers. There is no need to post that the link does not work. It will after a bit of patience.

9.02 Change Log Notes:
• Added Physio TrueUp support. Physio TrueUp syncs activities done on other Garmin devices, allowing your device to more accurately reflect your training status and fitness. Activities from other devices will appear in the Activities menu, and they will update your Totals for Running, Cycling, and Swimming. Your Training Status, Training Load, and VO2 Max will be updated using activities from your other devices, and your Recovery Time will be also updated using data from other devices supporting Physio TrueUp. Enable Physio TrueUp in Settings > Physiological Metrics on the device or in Device Settings on Garmin Connect Mobile.
Please send all bug reports to "][email protected], and indicate which model of the fenix 5 series you have in the subject line.

Please note, the beta updates released on these forums are not suitable for APAC region devices.
• Still not sure ... could be a little bit less ...

And - Garmin - is this beta really as of May 25, 2017 (!) ... the year could be minimum (and easy) to do right !!

NO - that was just a wish !! Battery drain is not (!) less ... !!

• so two edge 520 rides in - no performance metrics showing, it's still saying "run outdoors with heart rate twice to see your status"

basically all i have is "last activity status"

underwhelming so far
• v8.99 7 days, 4x45 minute runs averaged 10% per day.
v9.02 1 day 17%/day with 1x45 minute HRM run. (GPS4.40, Display 2.80, Wifi 2.40, CIQ 2.4.4, BT/ANT 6.10, WHR 20.03.27
I activated Firstbeat advanced heartbeat analytics (ETE 5.3.3.11, THA: 1.3.0.1).

Battery drain 50% higher than 8.99.
8.99 was a very good build.
Does Firstbeat AHA increase CPU workload?
• I'm not getting iphone notifications during "do not disturb" hours - previously the notifications would show but be silent - now the widget just says "no notifications" - until the "do not disturb" time is up - then they appear
• Battery drain 50% higher than 8.99.
8.99 was a very good build.

exactly what i see with 9.02. regarding battery drain 8.99 was way better - if not the best by now.
is there a quick and easy way to "downgrade" to 8.99? or do i have to revert to 8.0 first and do some kind of hard reset?

does someone with a fenix 5X have the same problem like me with a fenix 5 (without X)? since 9.02 the distance i made during an activity is not added to the total distance (of the day). only steps are used to calculate the daily distance. i did not have this problem before 9.02.

the garmin programmers remind me of a programmer in my company. he changes the code in an image upload script and after that the calendar (or whatever totally different) stops working as it should. i never found out how that can be done...

• Yes, battery drain continues. Are you using the new Firstbeat advanced heartbeat analysis?
I'm down to 62% in just 48 hours with 9.02. v8.99 was only 10%/day (with 1 activity).
Aerobic results are similar with or without HRM band, but Anearobic is 0 without HRM-run band.
• What do you mean by "activated" first beat advanced heartbeat analysis? Is there an option somewhere i'm missing?

I don't know if it is related to the fenix 5x and / or the latest beta but my 1st brick training is not shown in garmin connect. Sync of the the (unshown) training to styd, training peaks and runalyze worked via garmin connect.

Sorry... I should have said "Physio TrueUp", not Firstbeat. Support for Physio TrueUp was added in 9.02 as per the Change Log Notes at the top of this thread.
After updating and rebooting my 5X, i was asked if I wanted to use TrueUp or not. I said "yes".
I found the TrueUp setting (toggle on/off) under the watch: Settings, Physiological Metrics: 3rd page down "TrueUp". I'm going to turn this off before my next run tomorrow morning. I'll report if any battery performance, Anearobic, or Heart Beat changes after several days and 2-3 activities.
• Sometimes battery drain. For example today from 100% at 11:00 to 88% now (16:15). Very frustrated 4 months with betas.
